Kingston Horticultural Society

About Kingston Horticultural Society

The Society was founded just after the Second World War. Many members had allotments – hence our original name: Kingston New Allotments & Gardens Association. Later the Society simplified its name to Kingston Horticultural Society. KHS for short.

In common with many other gardening societies, membership declined in the early 1990s. From a nadir of 297 members in 2000 we are now thriving with a membership of 600 … and still growing.

Our two KHS Shops give our members the opportunity to choose from a wide range of gardening products and supplies … at very competitive prices! We hold two popular plant sales and an Annual Show for members and non-members. We publish three newsletter magazines a year and run an annual holiday, outings, and social evenings.

Thanks to the generosity of our members we also send donations to support the vital work of a centre for underprivileged children in Botswana.

We invite you to join this lively and friendly organisation.
